Bank of Spain

The Bank of Spain is the national central bank and, within the framework of the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM), the supervisor of the Spanish banking system. As a central bank, it is integrated into the European System of Central Banks, participating in the definition and execution of the monetary policy of the euro zone to maintain price stability in that, promote the proper functioning of payment systems and to put into circulation the legal tender bills and the metallic currency. As supervisory authority, the Bank of Spain constitutes the competent national authority and forms part of the Single Supervisory Mechanism, whose functions, among others, consist of supervising credit institutions and assisting the European Central Bank by submitting information, participating in joint teams. supervision and inspection, in order to promote the proper functioning, solvency and stability of the financial system.

CEMFI

CEMFI is an institution created by the Bank of Spain in 1987 whose aims are graduate education and research in economics. CEMFI organizes a graduate program leading to the degrees of Master in Economics and Finance and PhD in Economics. The Collegio Carlo Alberto (CCA) is a foundation created in 2004 as a joint initiative of the Compagnia di San Paolo and the University of Torino.
